Northern Skies Aviation is FAA 141, VA Chapter 30, and INS approved.  We have exceptional and comprehensive training curriculums.   Our staff of instructor’s are among the areas most knowledgeable and have logged over 30,000 hours of combined aviation airtime.

We do our helicopter training in a Schweizer C model, which is considered the safest helicopter in the world.  The Schweizer has a proven safety record, unparalleled maneuverability, inherent flight stability, and responsive handling.

In-flight helicopter training

It is not necessary to be an airplane pilot before undertaking helicopter training; but if you are, we offer Helicopter Add on Rating Courses for the following:

  • Private Pilot (*25 hours)
  • Instrument Rating (*18 hours)
  • Commercial Pilot (*35 hours)
