Montana Pilot School

Located in the Yellowstone valley community of Laurel, Montana our pilot school and training facilities offer the beauty of big sky country and unparalleled training in both fixed wing flight training and helicopter training.

We offer certification and comprehensive education for the beginning student as well as the advanced pilot.  Plus, we provide training in related fields for flight instruction, instrument rating, as well as flight and ground instructor certifications.

Make your dream of becoming a pilot a reality in as little as 35 flight training hours. Or add onto your current flight credentials as a pilot and attain a helicopter pilot’s license or take our specialized Mountain Flying Courses.

Northern Skies is one of the very few FAA 141 approved helicopter pilot schools in the state of Montana.  We are also a VA and INS approved flight school for a pilot that has interests in learning to fly privately, commercially, or attain flight instructor certifications.

We’ve been training and sharing our knowledge since the early 1990’s and our instructors have over 20,000 hours of combined aviation airtime and are among the region’s most experienced aviators.  We can train individuals for a private pilot’s license all the way to a professional ATP license.

Easy and affordable payments

Northern Skies Aviation does not set up contracts.  Our pilot school clients pay as they go and we offer a small incentive for pre-paid blocks.  There is a 5% credit for 10 hour block prepaid and 3% credit if you prepay with MasterCard or Visa.  Clients will fly concurrently with ground school.
